Marvin O. Agotness, age 85 of Park River, ND passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.
Marvin O. Agotness was born September 22, 1931 in Hatton, North Dakota, the son of the late Oscar and Alma (Monson) Agotness. He attended rural school in Garfield Township. He farmed and worked as a mechanic on the family farm and worked at the movie theater in Portland. Marvin owned and operated the Zelda Theater in Grafton and the Lyric Theater in Park River. He worked at St. Ansgar's Hospital for over 30 years until his retirement. He continued to make his home in Park River until the time of his death.
He was a member of the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Park River. He had a love and a passion for movies and providing entertainment to the community.
Marvin is survived by his children: Michael (Amber) Agotness, Johnstown, ND; Kari Agotness, Edmore, ND; Shannon Agotness, St. Petersburg, FL; Amy (Matt Lee) Agotness, Fargo, ND; his grandchildren: Kyle, Cassey, Piper, Brodin, Miley, Quinn, Megan, Colton, Logan, Austin, Lily, Ava, Juliette and Brittany; his best friend, Tom Henriksen, Grafton, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents and former wife, Sandy Myrvik.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 5-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Interment will be at St. Hans Cemetery, Edmore, ND. |
