Obituary | James Delaney, son of A. F. Delaney and the late Mrs. Rose Delaney, was born July 19, 1905, near Burress. He departed this life the morning of December 7, 1935, at the age of 30 years, 4 months and 18 days, in an Omaha hospital, where he underwent an operation ten days before. The family and other relatives were at the bedside when the end came. When a very small child, James' parents moved to Exeter and James attended the St. Stephen's and the Exeter high school, graduating with the class of 1924. While attending high school he was prominent in athletics. September 22, 1926, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary L. Franzen. Two children were born to this union. Bonnie Jean and Bobby. He was a hard working young man, a good manager, always looking out for his wife and children to see that they had plenty. He neglected his health for the love of his family. He will be greatly missed by them and all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his sudden departure, his wife, Mary, and the two little children; his father, A. F. Delaney; two brothers, Clement and Alvin of Lincoln; also many other relatives and a host of friends. His mother preceded him in death two years ago. Funeral services were held at St. Stephen's Church Monday morning, December 9, at 9:30, with Rev. E. Boll in charge. The church was crowded with sorrowful relatives and friends. Burial was in the Exeter Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal December 1935 | |
