- A marriage ceremony was performed here today while less than 200 feet away the best man and bridesmaid lay dead Four young persons drove from Milwaukee Wis to Waukegan 111 early today with two of them Randolph Drage 32 of Escanaba Mich and Marlene Hoffman 22 of Chicago planning a sunrise wedding Accompanying them was a happy affianced couple Wallace Stromberg 24 and Miss Willine Steinke 20 both of Milwaukee who w-ere to witness the ceremony Learning that a marriage license could not be obtained in Waukegan before 8 a Stromberg and his fiancee started back for Milwaukee to be at their jobs on time Drage and Marlene were married at 8:15 a by Justice of the Peace Henry Wallenwein It was then that they were informed that a few doors away in a mortuary lay the bodies of their friends Stromberg and his fiancee had been killed an hour before when their car skidded on the Green Bay highway near the Wisconsin-Illinois line and overturned
