Margaret Milefchik, 81, of Moline, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at her residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3205 60th St., Moline. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a rosary at 3 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Burial is at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the church.
Margaret was born April 18, 1932, in North Dakota, the daughter of Hans and Margaret O'Shea Dale. She married Eugene G. Milefchik on Aug. 13, 1951, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pocahontas, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2004.
Margaret was employed as the manager of Candles & Stuff, owned by Kirlin's, at the SouthPark Mall. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Margaret enjoyed crafting, baking, sewing, knitting, quilting and crocheting. She was a member of the quilting club at Christ the King. Margaret also enjoyed playing bingo at the Vikings and meeting for breakfast with the retirees from the Arsenal. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Margene (Greg) Willis, Dale (Susie) Milefchik, Ron Milefchik, Gary (Margaret) Milefchik, Kathy (Doug) Vanatta, Diane (Brian) Maere and Rick (Deann) Milefchik; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Blaha; and brother, Donald (Cathy) Dale.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Jerry and John Dale; sister, Mary Ann Wilder; and grandson, Travis McDow.
